Here is the claim Roger. Gathering dust at the British Museum is an ancient manuscript of the early Church, written by an anonymous monk. The manuscript is at least 1,600 years old, possibly dating to the first century and the ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. It seems to be the first solid written evidence that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, recounting that Magdalene was a gentile, that Jesus and Mary had children, and that there was a plot to kill Jesus, abduct Mary and murder their offspring.      Part detective story, part travelogue about a journey into the maw of an ancient world, The Lost Gospel reveals a secret that’s been hiding in plain sight for centuries. Award-winning writer Barrie Wilson, author of the bestselling How Jesus Became Christian, and award-winning documentarian Simcha Jacobovici, co-author of the New York Times bestseller The Jesus Family Tomb and star of TV’s The Naked Archaeologist, take us on an earth-shaking quest that illuminates the connection between a document long forgotten and paradigm-shifting secrets that are finally coming to light.

I saw this at Timo Paananen’s site. I figured if anyone could get to the bottom of this it’d be you!

  2. Not on so little information. It sounds like pure bunk. For instance, the British Museum no longer holds any manuscripts; they were all transferred to the British Library a couple of decades ago when the latter was created.

The first thing one would want is the shelfmark of this alleged manuscript.

  3. If you know anyone who has a copy, see if you can get them to identify which manuscript it is. All the BL manuscripts are listed in their online catalogue.

  4. Oh, c’mon. Everybody knows Mary Magdalene was a time-traveling alien from an alternate universe. And a Knight Templar. And a ninja Druid.

But she was not a shiksa!
