Manuscripts

  • Alqosh, Notre-Dame des Semences (Rabban Hormizd) Ms. 114. "Book of John of Dalyathé on the monastic life." 28 quires of 10 folios, 19 x 13 cm. Written in 1889 from an older ms where the first folios were missing and there were plenty of lacunae. Listed in Addai Scher's catalogue of mss in Journal Asiatique July-August 1906, p.66-7.

  • Description of Ms. Vatican Syriac 189 "8o parchment codex containing 104 folios, written in an estrangela hand of perhaps the 11th cent. This manuscript contains the ascetical discourses of John of Dalyatha. It is lacking beginning and end and is water damaged. The first discourse carries the title, 'Exhortation to custody and care,' but otherwise the discourses are written en bloc and without titles. See also Vat. Syr. 124 and 125." Available on CDROM.
