I have a bunch of books which I should like to send from the UK to a scholar in the Czech Republic. Trouble is, this could easily get pricey!
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how best to do this?

Oh yes it will be pricey.
The most important thing is that you vaue the invoice value low! The recipient will have to pay a duty based on your valuation.
Take the risk, value low, and ask the Post Office or DHL / Fedfex for a quote.
Duties on books? Sheesh. They’ll tax reading next.

You may find a college kid that is willing to take it for you for a small fee.
