Eusebius update

Apparently the proof hasn’t even been ordered.  I did what Lightning Source asked; I queried progress several times; but they tell me today that this was wrong, apparently.

They’ve now asked me to do something different, on their useless online system.  But their “instructions” do not work. I can’t even work out how to do it.  So another email back asking for clarification.

In my opinion Lightning Source are the most useless bunch of idiots that I have ever had the displeasure to work with.  Never, ever, do business with them if you can avoid it.

  1. This is so frustrating for you,

    I’m so sorry that’s the case….

I hear your disquiet and dissatisfaction.

I hope this can resolve for you in a constructive way….. don’t give up hope.

(that sounds trivial, but you never know where resolution/understanding can come from)

  2. Hang in there Roger. We all appreciate all the work you have been putting into this. No amount of incompetence is worth having a heart attack over. Just take a deep breath. It will all work itself out. I was very intrigued to see how this business with Lightning Source would turn out. I am sure there are others looking at this in terms of what it is like to get things self-published. Maybe you can think of yourself as someone undergoing things for the benefit of many other people – a kind of shepherd or leader. Just hang in there. It will all work out, one way or the other.

  3. I think LSI feel a bit guilty, although no-one has apologised. They tell me today that the proof has now been despatched. That is good news — I was fully expecting another month to go by. Let’s hope that it is OK and that we can go to print.

Yes, I can see why publishers get heart attacks! I’ve been rather unwell this month with overload, and of course this rubbish doesn’t help. I need to load shed.

I blog about this, by the way, not to vent off at my readers, but in the hope that my posts will provide a REAL example of what it is like to deal with LSI. I mean, Lulu is simple and you do the whole thing in one go. LSI is awful. People need to know that this is so.
